Frequently Asked Questions

Ordering & Portions

  • Are the portions meant for one person?

    • Yes. All meals are portioned as individual, single-serving meals designed for one person and thoughtfully balanced to be satisfying and nourishing.

  • How many meals should I order per week?

    • That depends on your schedule and needs. Many clients order 4–6 meals per week, while others prefer a full week of breakfasts, lunches, and dinners. You’re welcome to start small and adjust over time.

  • Are meals individual or family-style?

    • Our standard offering is individual meals. Family-style options are available if you order more than one serving of a dish and would prefer all components packaged in separate containers .

  • Can I mix and match dishes and proteins?

    • Yes. You’re welcome to mix and match meals from the weekly menu based on your preferences. To do this, you can order the different dishes you would like and choose the family-style packaging option so you can create your own plate at home.

Dietary Preferences & Customization

  • Can meals be made gluten-free?

    • Yes. Any meal can be prepared gluten-free upon request.

    • Please note that our kitchen handles all major allergens, including gluten. While we follow strict sanitation procedures, cross-contamination is still possible. If you have celiac disease or a severe gluten allergy, please contact us before ordering so we can discuss how to best support you.

  • Do you offer low-carb options?

    • Yes. For any meal, you may substitute the starch with an extra serving of non-starchy vegetables.

  • Can I make substitutions within a meal?

    • Starch-to-vegetable substitutions are always available. Other substitutions may be possible depending on the dish—feel free to reach out with specific requests.

  • Do you accommodate vegetarian or dairy-free diets?

    • Yes. We regularly offer vegetarian options and can accommodate dairy-free preferences. Dietary notes can be added as special requests when you add an item to your cart.

  • What about food allergies?

    • We do our best to accommodate allergies; however, because all allergens are present in our kitchen, we cannot guarantee an allergen-free environment. For severe allergies, please contact us directly before ordering.

Ingredients & Food Preparation

  • Are meals fresh or frozen?

    • Meals are delivered fresh, never frozen.

  • Where are the meals prepared?

    • All meals are prepared from scratch in our fully licensed commercial kitchen.

  • What kind of ingredients do you use?

    • We prioritize high-quality, organic ingredients whenever possible and focus on seasonal, thoughtfully sourced produce and proteins.

  • How long do meals last?

    • Each meal is labeled with a clear “Eat By” date. For best quality and food safety, we recommend enjoying meals within that timeframe. Our fish and seafood dishes have the shortest eat by date, usually 3 days after being prepared. The rest of our dishes have a longer shelf-life with some lasting as long as 7 days after preparation.

Containers & Sustainability

  • What do I do with the containers?

    • Please rinse and wash your containers, then place them back in your delivery bag.

    • If you have a future order scheduled, we’ll collect them at your next delivery.

    • If you don’t have an upcoming order, you may schedule a container return. Leave the bag by your doorstep, and we’ll pick it up the following Monday. To schedule a container return, email us @laura@peakperformancekitchen.com or go to our weekly menu ordering page and add the container return service to your cart (free of charge!) and checkout to confirm your container return.

  • Why do you reuse containers?

    • Reusing containers helps reduce waste and supports our commitment to sustainability while keeping costs down for clients. Please note, we clean and sanitize all containers before reusing them.

Delivery & Scheduling

  • When are deliveries made?

    • Deliveries take place on Mondays. Schedules may vary slightly during holidays.

  • Do I need to be home for delivery?

    • No. We include ice packs in all the bags to maintain them under 41°F. However, we do recommend placing the meals in the refrigerator shortly after delivery. If you won't be home, we recommend leaving a cooler out with extra ice packs or ice to make sure your meals stay cool until you get home.

  • What happens during holidays?

    • Holiday delivery schedules are communicated in advance via email and on the ordering page.

  • Where do you deliver?

    • We primarily serve Boulder and surrounding areas. If you’re unsure whether we deliver to your location, feel free to reach out.

Ordering Deadlines & Changes

  • When is the menu posted and when is the weekly order deadline?

    • The menu for the following week is posted on Mondays at 11:00AM. The weekly order deadline is on Thursdays at 1:00PM. Orders must be placed before the cutoff to be included in the upcoming delivery.

  • Can I change or cancel my order?

    • Changes or cancellations must be made before the weekly order deadline. After that point, meals are already in production.

  • What if I forget to order?

    • If ordering has closed, you can place an order for the following week once the menu is posted! We recommend setting a reminder or joining our email list to receive our reminder emails. We send reminder emails on Mondays and Wednesdays.
